Samsung names its next TWS “Galaxy Buds Pro”
Samsung is expected to launch its new Galaxy Buds alongside the Galaxy S21 series in January 2021. Samsung kept the nickname Galaxy Buds but added a + and a Live for new models. The next version of Samsung’s TWS will be called Galaxy Buds Pro .
The wireless headphones have been spotted on the Indonesian telecommunications certification site with that name and model number SM-R190, according to a report from GSMArena. The wireless headphones have also been certified by China 3C and Korea NRRA. The name is something new as previous reports suggested it would be called Galaxy Buds Beyond. Pro or higher, we know the TWS will be something from the Galaxy Buds.
The new Galaxy Buds are said to be an upgrade over the Galaxy Buds + and not the Galaxy Buds Live. The wireless headphones will feature an in-ear design similar to the Galaxy Buds +. Samsung is also said to be improving Ambient Mode in its new TWS and possibly adding active noise cancellation (ANC). The Galaxy Buds Pro was also spotted with a 472mAh battery, identical to that of the Galaxy Buds Live.
It looks like the upgrades will mostly be under the hood for the new Galaxy Buds. Samsung might be able to tweak the design a bit, but it will likely look the same.
In addition to the Galaxy Buds Pro, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 +, and Galaxy S21 Ultra on January 14, 2021. That’s a month earlier than when Samsung usually launches the flagship Galaxy S series.
